Description of Presentation
Hempfield High School Career Prep Biology teachers have used Podcasting an alternative assessment to traditional final exams. In this presentation, I will walk you through the process of how we developed and designed a podcast project for our Stream Study. My discussion will include an overview of the Stream Study Project, development of podcast storyboards, construction of podcast presentations, and grading of the final projects. I will also discuss the benefits and drawbacks we experienced incorporating podcasting as an alternative assessment. Copies of teacher and student materials used for our podcasting projects will also be made available.
Session Notes (S. Allen)

Programs used where Garageband and iPhoto.
Presentation file has details on the project click on the image to progress through the slides.
1 day visit to stream. Students rotate through 3 stations - physical characteristics, stream chemistry, and biological characteristics.
More resources are available about each of the stations by contacting Rania.
